Torrents for Newbies 103

I have done everything you asked and it never transfers my data. What should I do?
The last section of this Torrents will be to deal with the dreaded ISP throttling. What happens is since Bittorrents make up a large part of the internet traffic currently out there. Your ISP has a desire to limit the traffic and speed up the browser speed of others that are not using peer to peer programs. None of these will guarantee that you will get a faster speed however they can try and help you get around the clumsy ISP that only puts a simple layer of defense. Since I have been talking of Utorrent as your client I will stick with only offering the solution for that client. You can search for solutions for your client. They are available.
OK so here we go.

First- You can try and encrypt the data. This does has a downside as people must share with you that are also encrypting data. However it is a way that you can get around the data. RC4 encryption is offered right in the Utorrent client and most clients. If you have the Utorrent Client. Open up the Preferences panel and select the BitTorrent tab. Select Protocol encryption and then choose between "enabled" and "forced. (Options, Preferences, Bitorrent, Protocol Encryption). Keep the allow legacy checked. Then change that to forced. It will ensure you are encrypted all the time.
Second - Is change your port or make your port random. The reason is ISP have now blocked certain ports. Utorrent has a way to random your port. (Options, Preferences, connection, random port each start). This will ensure you get a random port when the program starts. So ensure this is checked.
Third - Is you can set it to Lazy Bit Field. (Options, Preferences, Advance, peer.lazy.bitfiled =true) This sounds real technical but is not that much. It just changes the shape of uploaded packets. It will leave it to the user on the other end to determine the connection. It is an effective method of shaping your outgoing traffic.
Forth - VPN you can go through a VPN. It is not difficult to set up. It will tunnel the data you are sending and receiving through this tunnel in hopes to hide your activity from the ISP.
Ok so you have all the ways to try and shape the traffic. Now for the bad news. ISPs are always changing what they do and how to shape traffic to prevent peer to peer programs. However today these are the most effective ways to try and shape your traffic so the ISP will not detect you.
Hope this article on Torrents for the Novice provides you with answers to get your favorite items from the web.

It shows the negative however from that you can derive the truth about things that could change the state of the Philippines. Read The Original click here:

The Philippines is destined to fail, cursed, doomed, ill-fated, and hapless and will never be rich.

The government is not the sole responsible for this catastrophe, but the people. Even after a thousand years from now, this country will only be worse than better.
People may blame the government and corruption as the main factor why the Philippines is still a third world country, despite having a small progress, but the reality remains clear. Filipinos are the ones to blame and here’s why.

1. Too Much Democracy and Freedom on Everything

More than 20 years since Marcos was ousted, followed by Estrada due to “People Power“, the aftermath is even more catastrophic. Thanks to students, nuns, priests, and other anti-government factions who turned the country into laughing stock and milking cow of today’s politicians.

2. Colonial Mentality

When we have to stop believing and thinking that foreign products are better than our local products? Lots of local businesses have closed or struggled because of this mentality.

3. Improper Mindset and Too Much Religion

“God loves poor people”, “God love the ones who sacrifice”, “Pope Francis is Champion of Poor”, so what now? There is nothing wrong on being religious because humans need spiritual guidance, but this is ridiculous. So what if God loves poor people? Does God loving poor people and the Pope being the champion of poor help the economy and feed one’s family?

4. Indolence, Laziness, Ignorance, and Discipline

Why wait for tomorrow if we can do it today? How many “tambay” do we have in the Philippines? Can we blame the government because we are “tambay“? Following a simple traffic rule like “no jaywalking” can cause unexpected traffic that may delay one’s job or business. Sa Japan or US wala kang makikitang nag-uumpukan kaharap si Gin or si Emperador Light. Dito sa amin araw-araw meron.

5. Modernization

Modernization does not always result to progress. A 10-hectare rice field that produces 30 tons of rice every year when turned into a subdivision does not mean progress. It’s moving backward because we are turning food into wasteland.

6. Lack of Entrepreneurial Spirit

“Study hard in order to find a good job”, “Study hard and work abroad” – so this is what most parents want for their children to do. Very seldom say, “Study hard and make money doing your own business”. Filipinos always complains that the rich are becoming richer and the poor are becoming poorer without analyzing the real reasons behind. No one is becoming rich for being an employee in his whole life (unless due to bribery and corruption). One has to have his own business (big or small), in order to lift his social status.

7. Education, Tradition, Culture

The Philippines has a high literacy rate compared to other third world countries, but education is still the main problem why the country is taken aback. There are also a number of traditions that held one’s chance to succeed even in simple things. A parent tells his daughter to study Nursing so that she can work in London in the future, but later ended-up working in a call center because there is no opportunity for her, or due to some other reasons. Another parent sends his son to an expensive private school because his “kumpare‘s” son is also there and he doesn’t want to be left behind. Unplanned education like this makes the whole family suffer.

8. Government Priorities

Setting aside the graft and corruption, the government is not doing any better in managing the whole country. The OFW thing does not help the economy in the long-term basis. Talking about sending all of your talents and skilled-workers abroad – what we have left then? There is no financial balance as well because when the dollar increases, it might be beneficial to OFWs, but local businesses that are doing import/export transactions are suffering. What’s the point then? The government should prioritize building more local jobs rather than sending people abroad. The Philippines was one of major exporters of rice and sugar during 60’s and 70’s but now we are importing. Our agricultural sector is dying because of lack of government support.

9. Political Dynasty and Corruption

Do I need to explain more about this issue? Justice Secretary Hernando Perez receiving $2 Billion bribe money, Macapagal Boulevard, Jose Pidal bank account, Fertilizer Scam, Jose Velarde bank account, Renato Corona, Euro Generals, ZTE scams, AFP Pabaon starring retired staff, LRT Contract, Makati City Hall Budget / Binay Mansion… and of course the mighty Janet Napoles and her collaborators Bong, Jinggoy, Johnny, etc.

10. Overpopulation and Family Planning

We believe overpopulation is the main reason why the Philippines is buried deep in poverty hole. Seeing how people living in squatter’s area makes us think the government is really dysfunctional, added by the Catholic’s nonsense intervention. This is a very simple math. When you have so many mouths to feed and your resources is not enough, hunger follows. People are growing in numbers, but our agricultural land that can be used to feed these people lack support and even destroyed by modernization and industrialization.

As conclusion, the real reason why we are poor is not all because of our corrupt government. It’s all because of us, our life style, our personality, our choices, and our decisions. Poverty is a choice and not a destiny. If you want to remain in poverty, it’s your choice. We have a lot of options to grab, but the decision is ours.
Stereotyping in the Philippines

An Opinion and Observation

I admire the way Filipino people defend their compatriots when they are—sometimes-- put in a less

than honorable category by other nations. The examples are the outrage when someone stereotypes Filipinos in an unfavorable way.

When in Singapore, someone said that all Filipinos were cleaners or when in Hong Kong, when a writer said that Filipinos were servants, the whole worldwide Filipino community reacted in uncontrollable rage.

Filipinos don’t allow their people to be verbally abused or humiliated like that. They call such “stereotypers” racist and even report them to authorities.

I remember when I was in Saudi Arabia, a Filipino American that I worked with was very angered by the fact that a British coworker had asked him if he was a cook. The Fil-am guy was a helicopter technician and he resented being stereotyped in such a way. His anger and indignation -- and the wound that the remark had caused were profound. “A Filipino is just a cook, huh?” He was nodding grimly to himself. He held a grudge against that Brit for a long time after that.

By the way, the reason the British coworker had thought he was a cook was because he had seen him inside the kitchen in full uniform- the Fil-am was actually preparing food for himself. But that did not calm the man down- he continued fuming.

The most insulting thing to Filipinos is when Filipina women are stereotyped as maids or entertainers in Asian countries even though they are teachers or nurses. This again wounds Filipinos deeply, and the whole nation resents it extremely.

I am really happy to see that they can unite in such a way to oppose insults and stereotypes by other nationalities.

But please allow me to do a bit of “et tu quoque” here. This whole thing begs the question: do Filipinos also stereotype other races if you go to their country?
The answer is: Oh, yes, they do it all the time! Not everybody does it, but quite a few do. In other words, some Filipinos can be just as bad.

Stereotype #1: Porener= pervert.

When I was in Saudi Arabia, a Filipino coworker sometimes pointed at the Americans working there and utter, “Amerikano, hahaha, pedopayl, hahaha!”. He was smiling proudly, too.

And one lady I invited to dinner in the Philippines-a teacher, as soon as she politely sat down, blurted out her first question to me: “Why are the Amerikanos pedopayls?”

I have had American friends who were in the Philippines with their kids, their nephew, nieces, and God children and they would sometimes report horrible looks coming from the people –“ If looks could kill, I’d be dead”, they said.

I was once in Pampanga and bought candy for my neighbor’s daughters. As I was treating them, two men went by and said: “Tignan mo ang mga maliliit na putang iyan!”- “Look at these two little whores!”. They thought I could not understand what they were saying.
One guy was
with his nieces and shopping in Cebu, and a strange man started grumbling about him that this was another “porener pedopayl” - which led to a violent confrontation.

Such cases are not that few. You’d better be careful walking with your kids, God kids, and younger Filipino relatives because a white “porener” with brown kids is immediately a pervert in the eyes of some. Does every Filipino think that way? No. But angry and hateful darts of the eyes can be a daily occurrence.

Just like not every Singaporean thinks that Filipinos are all servants- but some do- and it still hurts.

Philippine TV channels regularly report that another “poren pedopayl” has been caught firmly entrenching in the minds of the public the enduing relationship between the two words.

I’d rather be thought of as a cook.

Stereotype #2. A “porener” is a sex tourist, and his Filipina woman companion is a prostitute.

Angry darts of the eyes, beams of negative energy, scornful smiles, whispers and mocking jeers happen sometimes- when a white man is with a Filipina- especially when in a big city. Things are less so in small towns where they just think you are a husband and wife.

An educated Filipina would often avoid dating a “porener” in the city- or even walk by his side because people will think she is a prostitute. Which is basically racism-- as ugly as it sounds. Your only fault is that you have white skin and Caucasian features.

Sometimes things get to the point of ridiculous- there was once a Malacanang employee- a younger, married lady who was showing two British delegates the Intramuros. She then laughingly told them that she had overheard people whisper that she was a bar girl with two “poreners”. She did not get angry- she just took it in stride. What else would the people think anyway?

Such cases happen again and again. While most Filipino people don’t say such things, most Hong Kongers and Singaporeans also don’t think or talk much about Filipinos all the time- they have their own lives to live. But even a minority of hateful “stereotypers” can already make your life miserable and make you feel uncomfortable. It does take thick skin not to be affected by such things.

Thus, no matter how much you love the country and its people, it will still sometimes stereotype and slander you badly if you are white. And not only if you are white:
Indians ( the Boom-bye) all smell bad- are all money lenders and are called Turko - “Pautang Turco, pautang”, Japanese are all rapists, Muslims are “terrorista”, Russians are all “kumunista”, Jews are Christ-killers, and it goes on and on.

In other words, some Filipinos can be just as bad to others. Except that the assumptions that they have about others can be way more serious, more hurtful and affect many more people. After all- the stereotype that a Filipina is a maid affects only Filipinos-- and being a maid is not such a bad thing. It’s not a crime. But a “porener na manyakes” includes billions of people and slanders half the world.

Many “poreners” are quiet about it to their Filipino friends. They don’t want to be told “Well if you don’t like how we do things, just leave”. Hence, they say it to other “poreners”. But good Filipinos must hear and know about it and that “hindi lahat ng porener ay manyakes at pedopayl”. Please think about it and talk about it.

We are all going to be living and working together for a long time to come. More of you will be coming to our countries, and more or us will be going to your country, as well. Let’s all fight stereotypes and assume good things about another person before assuming the bad-- just because of his race or nationality.

I strongly wish Filipino people would address such ugly types of behavior at the same time as they protest against stereotypes which are directed towards them. Remember the Golden Rule? It works both ways. Always!

Poverty Holds the People Back

About half of the Philippines’ 100 million people live in rural areas. Poverty is most severe and most widespread in these areas and almost 80 per cent of the country’s poor people live there. Agriculture is the primary and often only source of income for poor rural people, most of whom depend on subsistence farming and fishing for their livelihoods. In general, illiteracy, unemployment and the incidence of poverty are higher among indigenous peoples and people living in the upland areas. Overall, more than a third of the people in the Philippines live in poverty.

The poorest of the poor are the indigenous peoples, small-scale farmers who cultivate land received through agrarian reform, landless workers, fishers, people in upland areas and women.

There are substantial differences in the level of poverty between the regions and provinces and the poverty gap between urban and rural areas is widening. Indigenous people living in highly fragile and vulnerable ecosystems, people in the uplands of the Cordillera highlands and on Mindanao Island are among the poorest in the country.

The causes of poverty in rural areas in the Philippines vary widely from island to island. Among the causes of rural poverty are a decline in the productivity and profitability of farming, smaller farm sizes and unsustainable practices that have led to deforestation and depleted fishing waters. Rural areas lag behind in economic growth and they have higher underemployment. This is partly because poor people have little access to productive assets and business opportunities. They have few non-farm income-generating activities, and people lack access to microfinance services and affordable credit. Some vulnerable groups also face specific problems. For example, indigenous peoples have high illiteracy rates and are affected by the encroachment of modern technology and cultures onto traditional norms and practices. Fishers face continuing reduction in their catches and they have few opportunities or skills outside of fishing. Women have limited roles outside of marketing and family responsibilities.

Overseas Filipino Workers

I woke up to a rising sun in Doha, Qatar, one warm Sunday in March and was led to the posh Ritz-Carlton Hotel where I was billeted, when I saw them. They opened the doors of the black car that took me from the airport to the hotel’s main entrance.

‘Kabayan,’ they greeted me, the Filipino word for fellow countrymen and women. It brought me comfort to find a fellow Filipino in a Middle Eastern country I was visiting for the first time. Later in the day, when I went to the city to exchange some dollars for local currency, I saw more Filipinos, my beloved Kabayans.

They were everywhere, sweating in the scorching desert heat, toiling a living for their loved ones at home. I saw them behind the wheels of the hotel’s shiny black Audis, behind bank counters, inside exhibition halls of Doha’s Museum of Islamic Art, inside the hotel’s luxurious spa and in the hotel’s lobby lounge.

Two hours from Doha, in the industrial city of Ras Laffan, I boarded a hulking black LNG tanker and saw them staffing the kitchen, cooking for the rest of the ship’s crew.

Overseas Filipino Workers, they all are. Our government calls them unsung heroes and rightly so, because the dollar remittances they send home keep the economy afloat. According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), recent data shows that remittances from overseas Filipino workers rose by six per cent to $1.68 billion in February from $1.59 billion in the same period last year.

The BSP expects 2013’s total remittances to grow by five per cent from 2012’s figure of $21.4 billion.

According to government statistics, there are 2.2 million overseas workers scattered all over the world, from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to Hong Kong and the US.

Beware of moving overseas! It’s tough, confusing, disorienting… and ultimately, extremely rewarding. So take it one day at a time and learn to walk before you run.

Living overseas will not solve your problems

It may distract you for a while but you’ll likely find that once you’ve been overseas for a while, old habits and patterns begin to re-emerge and you’ll find yourself with all the same problems, just in a different place. Your problems could only get worse if you run. Face them prior to leaving.

Eliminate baggage

<img alt="No Baggage" class="zemanta-img-configured" height="173" src="//upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/66/No_Baggage_-_Dolores_O_Riordan.jpg" title="Tim Potter "no Baggage"" width="200" />

Becoming an expat is not only physical, geographical, and logistical it’s also emotional. Your priorities change. Having these things back home will make you miss them. Then when you return home you may question why you left to start with. It was such a distant memory.

Bring Money

When you arrive budget is out the window as you try to settle in. So you must have more money then you thought. Plan for the emergency that may arrive and be prepared.

Visit First

All the reading and understanding does not explain the culture. There is nothing that compares to boots on the ground. A book and words mean nothing in real world situations So visit for a while and see if it suits you.

Be Flexible

Be prepared to be flexible about specific destinations. A lot of research on a city that you think you would love. After a couple of days of getting there you may realized it wasn’t the kind of place you wanted to spend more than a week let alone a life time. You are not married to one place so do not give up. Just move to another city.

Have Goals

Know where you want to be and set a time frame. Know that you must sacrifice in the short term to eventually reach those goals. If you come up short set the goal again.

Governments problems can be compounded

You need to be patient with the documentation procedure, be open and understanding with different languages and culture.”

Research

Research, research, research

Have a support structure

Dedicate time to spend time with people of similar culture to bounce ideas and thoughts off. It will keep you grounded. It will allow you to be open to talking about your fears and frustrations.

Have interests that the country provides

Do not be one dimensional when you move to the country. You must have genuine interest in the country you are moving to. Enjoy all the sites and sounds of your surroundings.

Water and Condoms

Don’t drink the water and use a condom.

Do no accumulate to much stuff

When you first arrive you will want the creature comforts of home. Yet you need to give it time before you settle into your life 100%. Ensure it is the location you desire as moving again would be of significant loss. This can be an emotional and physical drain if you must relocate.

Eat and speak local

Live outside your own little bubble. Get out Eat foods that you never thought you would, Take in the culture and learn the language. Push your self to the limits and then you reap the rewards.

Its not your home country

Your values and your idea of right and wrong belong in your home country. Adapt to the surrounding and try to be an Expert of life there. If you try and compare it will frustrate you and soon you will be packing.

Be a tourist

There is nothing wrong with being a tourist. It actually gives you an excuse when you make an error. Slow down take time and just enjoy this new life. After the honeymoon is over then settle into that new life.

You will miss family

People that do not travel frequently become home sick. They miss the close family support structure. This life changing decision can not just be undo instantly. It would be very costly to head back home. So you should consider this aspect prior to any move.

It is a move not a vacation

This is a step to a new location and new life. It will not end after a month so understand the dynamics involved. Do not think it is an extended vacation. This will be your life from today forward.

Dream or reality

As long as you sit at home and dream about this. The farther away it becomes. The only way to make this happen is to do it. Then it becomes a reality. Talk is cheap and dreams happen every day. Reality is when you step off the plane and you have arrived. To make this happen you must take the steps in the direction required and do what is required. Every step forward is a step towards making this a Reality.

Enjoy
There was a time when online dating carried a negative stigma. Over the years, however, using the Internet to find your future mate has become commonplace. One in ten Americans have used an online dating site or mobile dating app, according to a 2013 PEW Research study, and the largest group searching online for a potential mate are singles 50 and older. But unlike tech-savvy 20- and 30-something online daters, the plus-50s are less aware of the perils that lurk on the web.
Read More about this and other wonderful things at Android Police

Facebook, that company that is constantly trying to confuse you by naming its own branded apps after system apps, may launch another app it would now like to confuse you with, and it's called - wait for it - Phone. At least, that's what screenshots from a couple of folks who tipped us seem to say.

Cell Phone

Facebook, as we know, generally does major interface updates to its application server-side, so users occasionally get seemingly random glimpses of new features or UI designs before they launch. The [FB-ONLY] tag on this button for Phone would seem to indicate somebody flipped the wrong switch, and this element went live before it was supposed to. Tapping the button to install or update it does nothing but throw you to a "no page found" error, which is probably because the application is stored internally on Facebook's intranet for security purposes.

What we can divine from this button is, well, not a huge amount - but then again, it does just seem to be a dialer replacement. Phone will block calls from commonly blocked numbers and show you detailed information about incoming calls, a lot like the Whitepages Caller ID app. Presumably, Facebook will also be anonymizing your incoming call data for marketing and research purposes, because why else would they want to release an app like this?

We don't know if or when Phone will come to exist as a thing publicly, but it does seem like Facebook is at least testing it.

Cherry Mobile, MyPhone and Starmobile have been engaged in a battle to become the top local smartphone brand. By my own estimation, Cherry Mobile has had the upper hand so far releasing phones matching their competitors specifications at a substantially lower price. Recently we looked at two nearly identical devices, the Cherry Mobile Omega HD and the Statmobile Diamond. The biggest difference between these two offerings is that the Oemga HD is priced 2K less than the Diamond.

But MyPhone, the oldest local brand new A919i Duo looks like will the 5-inch round of the battle. Priced at Php9,590 the MyPhone A919i is priced Php1,600 more than the Cherry Mobile Omega, but it is worth every pesos of the price difference.

The new offering makes the right compromises.

It is no so much the quad core processor which interests me but the newer more power PowerVR SGX544 graphics chip used in the MyPhone A919i Duo. The Cherry Mobile Omega HD and the Starmobile Diamond have the older PowerVR SGX 531 graphics chip which is really pushed to its limits when playing 720p video or 3D graphics on the HD display. The PowerVR 544 graphics chip on the MyPhone Duo 919i does this with ease, MyPhone has posted benchmarks of this phone at a impressive 12430 Antutu Benchmark points.

MyPhone A919i Duo Antutu Benchmarks: 12430

CherryMobile Omega HD Antutu Benchmarks by TechLocal: 5999

Starmobile Diamond Antutu Benchmarks by Yugatech: 5577

I think the numbers speak for themselves. While the Cherry Mobile Omega HD and Starmobile Diamond have their own merits, when buying lower costs phone, compromises have to be made. MyPhone made the right one by prioritizing power and performance.

The best Fixes for Blogger you should do today.

When I first started this blog on Blogger I just first thought I would type a few sentences and be done. Then the search engine would do the rest for me. However what I have found is that this is not optimized for Search Engine Results. So what I have had to do is change many things that would allow me to get better SEO results and a better user experience.

The things I did in no particular order and it helped with my overall experience. Finding these errors was easy as setting up webmaster tools. However correcting them was a bit more.

Duplicate Meta Tags

Duplicate Title Tags

No Landing Page

Duplicate Search Descriptions

Comments and Page have same title or duplicate.

So I will now address each one of those and what I did to fix each and everyone.

Duplicate Meta Tags

This will not hurt you appearing in the search engine however it does affect the overall experience you have. I used the tutorial found on this website to fix this error. It was an easy enough fix. CLICK HERE

Duplicate Title Tag

What happens with Blogger is they use the Blog Title in every post. So your posts in the search engines do not have an idea about what the post is about. What you need to do is reverse the two. So the post title appears first and your blog title appears second. It is an easy fix and should increase your overall position in the search results. It was an easy fix and a good tutorial can be found here. CLICK HERE

No Landing Page

No I found that the best thing is a landing page. I post my link to various forums and other places that allow my site to be seen. Yet people never got the sense of feel except the last post. Maybe that post does not interest them. However I have other posts that may interest them. So when they visit the home page I want them to have a selection of posts they can choose from. Not just the most recent article. Again this was a real easy fix and really helped me with page views. I used this tutorial and found it to be very easy to accomplish. CLICK HERE

Duplicate Search Descriptions

This occurs when each page does not have its own search description and uses the default search result for every page it is a very easy fix and you should fix this. It will give you a better overall search and address more key items when people seek you out. Again this is another very easy fix and will assist you and your overall experience. CLICK HERE This will also fix your comment page where it shows duplicate errors so it is a twofer in the fix column.

With these easy fixes you can can be up in the search results and gain more and more traffic. The sooner you start to optimize for search engines the better it becomes. Blogger is a great platform yet it still leaves room for improvement.

So Enjoy......

How to succeed in getting your results in the search engine

I started this Blog and my other Blog to gain my reputation back from an online stalker. Some of my copyright complaints with Google have been successful not all. So I under took this blog idea and I never realized what goes into getting a good Google ranking in the search engine. I am not talking about your page rank I am talking about where you are positioned in the search results. Search engines have evolved over the years and something you think would be key are really no longer key. First and fore most when you start this undertaking you must do three things: Sitemap for your site, Google Webmaster Tools and Google Analytic. So the Newbie idea has come full circle into learning everything I could about Google and Search engine optimization

Lets start with Platforms.

Blogger - Which is what I am using is an excellent source to begin with however it has many Draw Backs. The templates supplied are not optimized for search engines. With that I spent hours fixing these errors. Errors that are vital to reaching that number one position. Some of the errors required me actually modifying the Template to adjust these errors. This is not easy however it can be done. Couple of errors I received were duplicate meta tags, duplicate titles. This is a huge issue when you consider the goal of getting to number one. However Blogger is a Google Product so it tends to get a little more consideration then other platforms.

Always the grass looks greener on another platform however Word Press has a huge community and with that they also have a huge database of people that are able to assist you. I am not sure of the all the errors with Word Press they do seem less when I was doing research trying to fix my site. Additionally my duplicate site at the time did not have all these errors.

Title and Keywords

When a search engine goes to find key words the first place they seem to look at is your website address and title pages. These are vital to match your keywords you are trying to target. Additionally within the body of your text you must contain keywords that also relate to your Blog Title. However there is a very fine line on what google accepts and does not accept. I have read about 10 articles on the subject of keywords. What is a good percentage is around 4% no higher or you may hit with what is known as key word stuffing. So keep it between 2-4% and you accomplish your mission. Remember your title should contain the keyword you are looking to accomplish.

Meta Tags and Descriptions

This has been around for a long time. Each post you do in a blog should have a meta tag for search description. Thus your post can easily be found in the search directory. Again your search description needs to contain the keywords you are striving for in the post. There are many other meta tags that help however one that seems to really help is having Authorship and if you have a Google plus account link it to that. Also a meta tag that targets your language you are writing in is very helpful to the search engines. There seems to be a bit of contention on the next one and this is meta tag for keywords. Years ago this seemed very important however with the new algorhythms in search engines it is not that important. Yet still it is another piece and you should have a keyword meta tag.

First 100 words

When you write your blog it seems from what I read in various blogs from specialist in the field that your first 100 words are the most vital. So you need to ensure that those first 100 words contain 4% keyword. Thus the search engine will be very familiar with your site.

66% Google share

Why do I say that. Because that is the percentage of searches that are done on Google vice Yahoo, Bing, Ask and the various other search providers. So do not forget to also do a sitemap and webmaster tools for Bing. They additionally do this for yahoo. With Firefox containing just under 20% of market share in browsers and switching from Google to Yahoo with a default yahoo tool bar. There will be a slight shift in that market share.

Backlinks Backlinks Backlinks

What this is are how many sites leading to your website. The more the better is the correct answer however let me explain this further. The people at the Search engines are not stupid. If you have a brand new website that is generating very little traffic there is no way you can have 10,000 back links. You need to build these in a natural conforming way. The best way though not much weight is given to them is commenting on others blogs. You could also write a guest blog yet when you first start out that is not really an option. What I found best is find forums in your niche market and create back links via your profile. Also post your work on the forum for others to read. You get good feed back from your post and if the forum allows it you can get a back link also. It is better to have 5 quality back links from respected sites then 50 from junk sites.

Social Media

This is a vital tool in the success of your blog. The search engines spend lots of time on social as the data is constantly changing. So post your work on the social media page. Create fan pages in social media. Link your site to your profiles in social media. This way you get the word out your site is out there. Also it creates a buzz and people start talking about your site. The more people share the better it is for your site.

These are just some newbie tips to help you with your first blog or web page. It can be overwhelming being a newbie yet with a little bit a time and a little reading you will up and running to the first page of your favorite search engine. Also do not forget content quality content is more important then any search engine optimization trick you can pull.

What are the actions you can take. You can report these offenses to the web master that has the photos or material. You can report them to the author of the website. Yet those seem to do little good in the case of Cyber Stalker. So then you can report them to Google who in reality just press a button for deny.

How do I, Tim Potter Philippine-Sugar Land know this, a Cyber Stalker has followed me around the web for no reason. He is a jealous bitter old man. That wishes people to live in his misery.

So then you follow the advice of Google. Create positive things to outweigh what was said and things that are negative about you. I Tim Potter Philippine-Sugar Land created a blog and many online profiles. I used Blogspot and Google Plus to create these profiles. You follow the instructions of Google. Then the cyber stalker goes and steals your content and posts it on his profile. He steals your Google Plus Profile and Blogspot posts. So now you inform the website author of the what may happen. You inform them that he has once again violated your copyright and stole your material.
So where does that leave us. Well I Tim Potter Philippine-Sugar Land gave him 12 hours to remove all my photos for his website. I will then report this latest theft of material to Google. Now seeing that Google Plus and Blogspot are both Google products I doubt seriously they will take kindly to the fact he has stolen from them. However if they fail to act on this 100% plain action of copyright infringement It will be the time to start to exit 100% from the Google world. As Google has just gone over the top to promote cyber stalkers and pedophiles In the name of what? See his site also contain underage girls in sex acts. Yet Google refused to de-index that site. Nor take action. I figure unless you make a million dollars and go to court they refuse to act. They have even refused to place those images in safe search. Wow.....
There have been reports that ISPs do not entertain image theft anymore. I Tim Potter Philippine-Sugar Land wonder how true those reports are. The rub here is you take him to court to take down sites. This costs you a thousand dollars or so to do as such. Then for $10 dollars the cyber stalker opens up shop somewhere else. Yet you are out a thousand dollars to fight back. Additionally when the person lives in another country there is little you can do in regards to monetary damages as he is an expat in France. Yet since this guy has a USA passport and his number was published on the web he has has been reported for child endangerment to US Authorities and the FBI.

I Tim Potter Philippine-Sugar Land will now sit back and wait for the outcome. No matter the outcome with Google. Two things will remain the same. I will have a wife that is beautiful and would be the envy of any man. That my cyber stalker will remain jealous and bitter over this fact.
How to test the performance of your Broadband connection

Is there a time when I should be testing my connection?

I am real big on analogies so if you are going to test your connection. See how the traffic flows on a highway is diffrent at different times of the day. So just like your internet, congestion on your connection plays a huge part.

Also if you using your connection 24 hours a day downloading and up loading files you may be subject to throttling by your internet service provider. This is to ensure fair use policy among all users.

So how can you see what kind of speed you are getting?

1. Go to Speedtest . This is a good site to check your possible through put of your internet. It will check your burst speed and average your overall speed.

2 Find a server. Select a server that is close to your current location. The farther away will result in lower speeds.

3 Click on Start test. This will start the test and show yo the end result of your test.

Now if you are not getting the speed promised. You will need to do a little house cleaning before you go to your ISP and complain. First restart your modem, router and your computer. Then run the steps again.

If that still fails. Then you are going to want to run your Anti-Virus and Malware/Spyware application. If you are confuse about this please follow this link.

If you have done all the step above. Still prior to complaining to the ISP run the test at 3 different times during the day. Ensure that it was not just a one time thing. Once you armed with all this data it is now time to call the ISP.

So Enjoy

Cloud storage is very simple these days. You can drag and drop your photos into a folder right on your desktop. It allows you to save space on your computer and creates this virtual backup of all your data. Now I use cloud storage and why not. There are a few good options out here and they are free to use a certain amount of data. These programs require a simple download yet work just like a file manger and are just so simple. They also have a public link option. Which is so neat. You can then just share that link with friends and family. When you do that they get a link to the data for download or viewing. No longer is there a need to send those pictures via email. Just send a link. They are also mobile so I can share photos right on my tablet or phone. No need to lug around an extra hard drive. they are all right there for me to show off.

Become a Blogger in no Time.

You’re able to become a journalist by writing your initial blog post, as an entry, for your new web log. as luck
would have it, the mechanics of writing a web log post are not much different from writing are e-mail.

Most posts are quite short and are written directly and informally, however you'll be able to build them as long as you would like. Each web log takes on a temperament and lifetime of its own.

If you've got used a Web-based e-mail service like Gmail, Hotmail, or MSN, web log package feels terribly acquainted. Making the post is solely a matter completing the acceptable fields in an exceedingly simple manner, info text, then sending it off to its destination — during this case, to your web log, instead of a friend’s inbox.

1 Go to the Blogger business screen.

Once you have finished signing up for your web log, click the beginning posting link to begin a web log post. The business screen seems. If you’re coming to Blogger, log in. Blogger takes you to the Dashboard — a sort of control board showing you the blogs you have got started — supplying you with access to tools like posting, facilitate resources, or maybe making another web log. Click the New Post link on the Dashboard to urge to the composing screen.

2 Enter a title for your post within the Title field.

Titles are like newspaper headlines, catchy and informative so they encourage guests to your web log to continue reading.

3 Write your post within the field.

Consider writing your web log posts in an exceedingly normal word-processing program, like text editor or Microsoft Word, and saving the document. several web loggers have spent hours composing right within the entry field of their blog to find out that their web log has had a technical problem leading to a lost post.

4 Format your post.

Blogger’s entry field includes icons across the highest that allow you alter the font and font size, apply headings and italics to text, and make common info designs like lists. To use these options, choose the text within the field that wish to change by clicking and dragging over the text; then click the acceptable icon or choose an possibility from the specified drop-down list.

5 Preview and Publish.

I always like to preview my post prior to publishing the I reccomend you do the same. Once this is complete it is now just a matter of hitting the Publish and you are now on the web. With your very first web log or Blog.

Enjoy
Yet is this a curse or is it good for the masses.

Little History behind Social Media

Social networking seems like a very new phenomenon and, certainly for the younger generation, it’s hard to imagine a world without Facebook and Twitter.
But social isn’t (and never was) just these two platforms – in fact, it actually predates both of them by over thirty years. Yep. The history of social media is, essentially, the history of the internet, and you will find its roots in email, usenet, the world wide web, blogs and (gasp) AOL.
Fast-forward to 2003, and MySpace and Friendster were *still* all the rage. True, it wasn’t until Facebook (2004) and Twitter (2006) came along that social media really began to change the world, but its foundations can be discovered a lot further back in the timeline. And in ten years from now, unthinkable as it might seem today, it’s inevitable that both of these platforms will have been superseded by something else, too. Such is the nature of the beast.

So is social media replacing the mainstream news.

With social media people are often misquoted and misrepresented on the internet. It seem as though the masses believe much of what they read on social media sites. However they are no better then your average gossip station for people read about. It is like the old saying "bunch of old ladies sitting around with nothing better to talk about" So people just go about and make things up.

However then you have the real problem with social media. No where in the history of time has your life been open up to predators the way it is today.

People will freely give up personal information to join social networks on the Internet. Afterwards, they are surprised when their parents, employers and others read their journals. Communities are outraged by the personal information posted by young people online and colleges keep track of student activities on and off campus. The posting of personal information by people has consequences. The New York Times reported that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a nonprofit group, says that one in seven regular Internet users between the ages of 10 and 17 will be solicited online for sex. That figure has fallen from 2000, when it was one in five.

So why is social media so popular?

Anyone who’s not using a social network probably wonders what the fuss is all about.

But for those who use Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, and that’s more than half of all adult Americans, the answer revealed by a new study released today will come as no surprise at all: social networks let them stay in touch with family members and connect with friends.

So stay in touch however just be safe about it.

Remember to share on Facebook or like if you enjoyed.
As of now, it is not legal to unlock your new smart mobile device. This verdict, by the Librarian of Congress in Oct., is seen by many as a blow to consumers who wish to do what they want, when they want, with the mobile devices they own.

Why is it not legal to unlock a smart mobile device or tablet?

Unlocking a mobile device requires making modifications to its firmware – software that is copyrighted by your provider and a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Was it always like this?

No

Every 3 years, the Librarian reviews the verdicts of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and makes exceptions under the law. In 06, they decided that mobile device unlocking should be exempted under Digital Millennium Copyright Act. But that changed in 2012.

Why this verdict changed?

Because they were convinced, for a number of reasons, that allowing unlocking was no longer a necessary exemption.

The reason listed by the Librarian is, an increasing population of mobile devices you can buy that come unlocked. Apple and its provider partners sell the Iphone 5 unlocked, for example. Nexus 4 also comes unlocked. T-Mobile has plans to offer more of its mobile devices unlocked. Retailers like Best Buy offer unlocked mobile devices. They decided that there is no reason to change the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to allow people to unlock any mobile device since people can buy an unlocked mobile device, if they choose to do so.

The new court verdict has changed the interpretation of the law. In 2010, the 9th Circuit court decided owners do not actually own the software on mobile devices. Instead, we only licensing the software a key difference means that we don’t have a right to change that software. This was role in the Librarian’s verdict.

Is it not legal to unlock all smart mobile devices?

No
.
The verdict only applies to newly bought mobile devices, meaning any provider locked mobile device bought on or after Oct. 28, 2012, the date the new verdicts went into effect.

If you buy a used mobile device or even a new mobile device not directly from a provider you are still allowed to unlock it. It’s also perfectly legal to buy a mobile device that comes unlocked. You can also, in some circumstances, ask your provider for permission to unlock your mobile device.

Is jail breaking the same as unlocking?

No.

Jail breaking allows you to run apps on your mobile device that you couldn't with an un-jail broken mobile device, such as apps that are not available in the Itunes App Store. Jail breaking does not let you change to a different provider. Jail breaking is still completely legal under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Is there a legal way for me to unlock my new mobile device?

Yes

AT&T will let you unlock your mobile device forever, given your contract has already expired.

What happens if I unlock my mobile device anyway?

Not Telling the verdict on that is not in.

According to the website and help documentation I should check for Viruses, Malware and Spyware using a whole list of software they recommend to use. I however know 100% prior to this my computer was clean. So then why did I get this message.

Internet Service Providers (ISPs) only have a number of Internet Protocol (IPs) addresses they can use. Thus they do not give you an internet address you can use on the internet. However one address that is used on the intranet. Then once you go out the internet you share your IP with 100's of other people on the internet. This is know as being behind a proxy.

So how do you check if you are behind a proxy or actually assigned an IP address. Well the process is very simple.

If you just type into Google what is my IP it will give you what your IP address is. Then you will have one or two things you must do.

If you are connected through a router go to the router admin page and look for the WAN IP. If that number is the same as the IP given on Google then you are not behind a Proxy. Now if you are not behind a router and connected directly you will go to your Windows start icon and type in the search for programs type "CMD". (no ""). A box will appear and inside the box you will type ipconfig /all. Look for IPV4 address and that will either match or not. If it does not match then you are behind a proxy server. Proxy address normally begin with either 192 or 10.

Simple and if you are unsure if you are clean from viruses, spyware and malware please read my tips on keeping your computer clean.

This is my second article about Bit torrents for Newbies. Read the first one here. I can say that Bit torrents as good as they can be there are people who try and take advantage of this. They do this through placing advertisement in the Bit Torrents or they have you follow links on the web that are useless to get an unlock code. What I will attempt to do is show how to figure out if the torrent is fake or if that torrent is worth your time to down load. The Biggest thing is if you get a fake torrent delete it asap. Do not seed it and propagate that torrent through the system.

First

When you get to your favorite torrent site. The first thing to do is look at the comments. Read what others are saying about the torrent. If it is a fairly new torrent look at the seeder vs leecher. Spammers have this incredible seeder side and very few leechers. No always an indicator but it is a place to start.

Second

Now lets look at what files are actually in the torrent you want to download. When torrent program opens it up it shows you the files that ready for you to download. Most torrents have an information file a *.nfo you can be opened this file with a simple text editor. This will give you details about the file and if you need to do anything prior to using the file. You should always read this file. Other files that may be contained are a readme.txt or readmefirst.txt file again these are simple text files. Things you should be on the watch for are HTML or website pages, password info or zip files. This are key indicators that the file is fake. There are normally more then one source so move on.

Third

Things that indicate that a torrent may be good. Are details about the items and screen shots of item. These are all real good indicators the torrent is good. do not worry not always do these things exists and does not mean it is fake. You just may want to move on to another source for download. Just remember the more detail about the file will help you not waste your time with a download.

Fourth

I really love this site. What it does is verify that what you are getting ready to download does in fact work. So click here and search your favorite. When and if it comes up there will be a NFO file. Click it. that should open in the browser and right there is the seeder that is providing the working torrent.

Recently I bought a Samsung 7" tablet and this has changed the way I view things on the internet and just in life in general. So also I am a Newbie to this experience I no longer have a need for books. I can down load them on the internet and review them right here on my tablet. I no longer have this need for newspapers I again get my total news feed right here off the internet. I check my mail and check my social status right here on the the tablet.

You say well I have been doing that for years on my computer.

It is not the same as I have also. I lay in bed at night and read a book holding the tablet. I wake up to my morning coffee with the tablet open to my favorite page. I can pull it out of pocket or just open up on the go and check my email. I have my favorite TV Schedule on the tablet and it is a companion for my TV viewing pleasure.

This size of tablet is what they call a Phablet.

Not really big enough to be a true tablet but also not small enough to be a smart phone. However the size and weight seem just perfect for everything. It is light weight and easy to carry. This device has become my everything go to computer device. See where this is different is I can carry it every and it is simple easy to use. My tablet is a little different is that it also has a Sim card and full phone and text capabilities. So I have a blue tooth phone and it acts as my home phone also as my to go phone.

The apps that make this work are just the best. Flipboard is my favorite by far it is like turning the pages of your favorite magazine. Steve Jobs once said it was his favorite application and I must agree it is mine also.

So tablets are changing the way we view the internet. They are changing the way we view the world. The size, functionality and weight make this my perfect travel, at home, and everywhere gadget.

I have been a victim of a CyberStalker. Give you an idea I do not know this guy nor have ever met him. I was on a forum that he posted an opinion that I disagreed with. So he started a crusade against me online. He stole pictures from my Facebook and other guest blogs I had done. Now I have been vigilant ensuring that my picture and likeness never appear on the web. Nor pictures of my family. Now there are things you can do that will ensure your safety and that of your family if you Facebook. Even if you are not a victim it can happen to you.

Step 1:

You need to go to you Account Privacy settings

Step 2:

Then you will click on profile. Listed here are the safety setting for your entire profile. It is an easy break down for all your personal information. You should be setting every single one of these to Only Friends.

Step 3:

Now select your albums and ensure that only friends have access to view and look through all your photos.

Step 4:

Now go back to your account privacy information. Ensure that everything is set to only friends. Now you should change one setting that is add me as a friend to everyone. Then people will be able to allow you to become their friend.

Step 5:

This is the one that has me worried the most. You have applications that friends use that allow those applications full access to your profile. They can then get in there and use, take, distribute your information. So you are going to want to change these settings. Go to Privacy, applications and websites. You are going to want to un-tick every single one of those. Then save your changes.

Step 6:

Last thing is to verify that activity on your Applications and dashboard are set to Friends only.

Enjoy
